Halifax Loses a Champion and a Determined Voice for Equality

Toronto: Egale Canada is tremendously saddened to hear of the death of Raymond Taavel this morning in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Raymond was a vital member of his community. He was a champion for many causes and a determined voice for equality in Nova Scotia. His many contributions to the LGBT community have been remarkable, and will not soon be forgotten. Egale offers sincere condolences to Raymond's family, friends and community on this tragic loss.
